Small bathrooms run out of space for towels, toiletries, and cleaning supplies almost right away. Most rentals also don’t let you add cabinets. These small bathroom organization ideas work without drilling, or with removable options.

I have the smallest toilet and shower area, so trying to optimize storage is an absolute must, and I mainly do it with the shower. Adding additional shelves, making sure I am constantly getting rid of empty products instead of trying to get the absolute last drop out of them. My space just doesn’t allow me to hold on to that kind of clutter.

1. Add an over-the-toilet shelf

The wall above the toilet is the biggest unused space in most bathrooms.

2. Organize under the sink with drawers

Stackable clear drawers or a two-tier sliding organizer turn a messy cabinet into something usable.

3. Use a tension rod shower caddy

A corner tension pole caddy holds everything without screws.

4. Hang towels on the door

An over-the-door towel rack or hooks frees up wall space.

5. Put a tray on the counter

One small tray for daily things keeps the rest of the counter clear and easy to wipe.

6. Store extras in a basket

A lidded basket for backup toilet paper and towels looks better than a stack.

7. Use the inside of the cabinet door

Adhesive hooks or a small rack hold hair tools, brushes, or cleaning cloths.

8. Roll towels

Rolled towels take up less space and fit in baskets or on open shelves.
